Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has termed climate change as the world’s biggest problem and emphasized the need for immediate and effective measures to address it.
Speaking at the Sindh University convocation, Bilawal highlighted the catastrophic floods in Sindh in 2022 as evidence of the significant threat climate change poses to our future generations. He stressed the necessity of preparing on a war footing to avert such disasters in the future.
He also questioned the reliance on outdated and inefficient energy generation methods and the import of electricity. Bilawal pointed out that Pakistan is blessed with one of the world’s largest coal mines, which, if utilized, could generate cheaper electricity and help combat climate change challenges.
The PPP chairman urged students to raise their voices for their rights and to struggle for a digital bill of rights, stating that it is their democratic right. He emphasized the collective effort required to draft this digital bill of rights.
