The winter chill is setting in across Karachi, with nights expected to become colder in the coming days. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasts that the minimum temperature will range between 10°C and 11°C, with dry and cold conditions prevailing during the day. Light winds are blowing from the northwest, adding to the city’s cooler ambiance.
Upper Sindh and parts of Balochistan may experience a temperature drop as low as 7°C. Northeastern Balochistan is currently enduring severe cold after rain and hailstorms, with temperatures plunging to -7°C in some areas.
Elsewhere in the country, northern regions, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan, are likely to witness snowfall. In Punjab and Sindh’s plains, fog is expected during early mornings and late nights, while Pothohar will experience frosty mornings. This nationwide cold spell follows recent westerly disturbances that brought rain and snow to the upper parts of the country.
