Lahore: Defense Minister Khawaja Asif dismissed PTI’s proposed civil disobedience campaign, claiming it is bound to fail as the state ensures essential services to the public. According to him, such movements succeed only when citizens are not reliant on the state.
Criticizing PTI’s committee for negotiations and its demands, he termed them unrealistic. He further took a jab at Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, suggesting their lack of political insight.
Asif labeled PTI’s recent protest a failure, countering claims of arrests and casualties by stating no excessive force was used. The government denied PTI’s allegations and highlighted the sacrifice of law enforcement personnel.
He urged PTI to embrace its parliamentary role instead of resorting to street protests. He emphasized that historical revolts succeeded under revolutionary conditions, unlike the current scenario.
