Bosnia: The Jablanicko Lake, once a major tourist attraction in Bosnia, has nearly dried up due to severe drought this year. The water levels have dropped drastically, leaving boats stranded on dry land and much of the lake’s surface empty.
Local resident Saliha Kuljanin remarked that the lack of rainfall this year has caused a frightening decrease in the water levels, affecting not only tourism but also nearby energy plants that rely on the lake’s dam for power generation.
Experts warn that climate change is intensifying such droughts, leading to more natural disasters, including landslides in the region.
