Imran Khan, the incarcerated leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has shown a clear preference for his wife, Bushra Bibi, to convey his political messages, rather than relying on senior party leaders. According to Bushra Bibi’s spokesperson, Mashal Yousafzai, Khan feels frustrated as his instructions are often manipulated or blocked by those within his own party. As a result, he has tasked Bushra Bibi with directly conveying his intentions to the public and PTI workers.
Yousafzai stated that Khan gave Bushra Bibi precise instructions on how to manage the party’s affairs, emphasizing that the “final call” protest was a critical moment for PTI supporters to demand his release. Despite having no political ambitions herself, Bushra Bibi’s role is seen as a bridge between Khan and his supporters. She has earned Khan’s full trust, with him even referring to her as his spiritual guide.
However, some senior PTI leaders are suspicious of Bushra Bibi’s growing prominence within the party. These leaders have been accused of manipulating the party’s agenda for their own benefit. Despite this, Bushra Bibi remains steadfast, continuing to follow Khan’s directions and pressuring for his release. Her actions have solidified her role as a central figure in PTI’s political struggle, much to the displeasure of certain party factions.
