Karachi is set to experience cooler nights as winter slowly makes its way into the city. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the temperature in the metropolis is expected to drop to as low as 17°C in the coming days, with dry weather predicted during the daytime. Humidity remains at 58%, accompanied by light northeastern winds, further enhancing the seasonal shift.
In Sindh’s upper regions, temperatures may dip even further, reaching 16°C, while light rain and drizzle are expected in districts like Larkana and Jacobabad. These mild weather conditions signal the arrival of winter across the province.
In neighboring Balochistan, the weather has turned significantly colder after record-breaking hailstorms in districts such as Duki. Frosty winds have plunged temperatures to -3°C in areas like Chaman, with predictions of a further drop to -7°C in northern regions near the border.
Meanwhile, rain, hailstorms, and snowfall in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northern areas like Gilgit and Skardu have added to the chill, signaling the start of winter in the high-altitude regions. Similarly, light drizzle is expected in the Pothohar plateau, Murree, and Islamabad, bringing relief from warmer temperatures in these areas.
As Karachi braces for its share of cooler nights, the shift in weather across Pakistan paints a promising picture of winter’s arrival, providing a much-anticipated respite for residents across the country.
