The long-running legal dispute between Hollywood icons Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt over their joint ownership of the Château Miraval winery has taken a significant turn in Jolie’s favor. A recent court decision has given Jolie a considerable advantage, with a judge ordering Pitt to hand over a crucial set of documents.
On Monday, the judge directed Pitt to present documents that Jolie’s legal team believes are essential to their case. According to Jolie’s lawyer, Paul Murphy, these materials include “communications regarding abuse, falsehoods told to authorities, and years of cover-ups” allegedly involving Pitt.
The documents, which include messages, emails, and written exchanges, are said to contain critical evidence that could weaken Pitt’s defense and strengthen Jolie’s claims.
Pitt’s legal team had initially resisted releasing these documents, dismissing Jolie’s request as a “sensationalist fishing expedition” and arguing that it was “broad and invasive.” Despite this, the judge’s ruling now forces Pitt to provide the documents, which Murphy claims may expose actions detrimental to Jolie and their children.
Murphy further emphasized that Jolie never intended to prolong the legal battle. He asserted that she had made efforts to resolve the matter amicably. “Angelina never wanted any of this,” Murphy stated. “She never pressed charges, she left all their properties, and she is the one who tried to sell him the business in the first place.”
Despite these attempts to settle, the dispute continues, with Pitt maintaining control over the renowned Miraval estate, famous for its award-winning rosé. Jolie’s legal team maintains that Pitt has yet to be held accountable for his actions and is now facing a lawsuit that could prolong the conflict.
“His actions harmed Angelina and their children, and these are at the heart of this case,” Murphy added. “She wants this to end, the children want this to end, and Mr. Pitt should focus on healing their family, not prolonging legal battles.”
