LOS ANGELES (AP) — A woman in Los Angeles has filed a lawsuit claiming that Metro Boomin, a producer nominated for a Grammy who has collaborated with some of the most prominent figures in hip-hop and R&B, raped her in 2016 and caused her to become pregnant.
The producer’s lawyer claims that the allegations are untrue and described the lawsuit that was filed on Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court as “a pure shakedown.”
In the lawsuit, 38-year-old Vanessa LeMaistre claims that following the death of her 9-month-old son, she became friends with Metro Boomin, whose real name is Leland Wayne. The lawsuit claims that she blacked out while visiting him in a recording studio months later and woke up on a bed to find Wayne raping her.
The suit claims that she discovered she was pregnant after the attack a few weeks later.
The allegations were immediately refuted by the producer’s attorney, who was born in St. Louis and is 31 years old.
“This is purely a test.” In a statement released on Wednesday, Lawrence Hinkle II stated, “These are false accusations.” In the past, Mr. Wayne refused to pay her, and he continues to do so today. In court, Mr. Wayne will represent himself. Once he wins, he will file a claim for malicious prosecution.
The Spider-Man: Homecoming soundtrack was curated by Wayne. The majority of the album’s songs were co-produced by Across the Spider-Verse” His album “Heroes & Villains” from 2022 was nominated for a Grammy for best rap album. It featured contributions from John Legend, The Weeknd, and Travis Scott. Additionally, he has collaborated with 21 Savage, Future, Kendrick Lamar, Offset, and A$AP Rocky.
In the suit, LeMaistre stated that she first met Wayne at a party in Las Vegas in the spring of 2016. Over the next few months, she and Wayne reconnected several times, and she “believed that they had bonded over the ability of music to help people in their darkest moments.”
She paid him a visit sometime in September at a recording studio in California, where she was given a shot of alcohol and half a bar of Xanax.
