COKE STUDIO: At the P3 Gold Awards in Norway, oke Studio’s massive hit “Piya Piya Calling,” which got everyone grooving with the Quick Style dancers, is up for Song of the Year!
Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan, more commonly referred to as Xulfi, the producer and curator for this season, shared the information on his Instagram story, stating that “P3 is Norway’s biggest radio channel.”
The Norwegian musical duo Karpe, singer Delara, and Pakistani singer Kaifi Khalil perform the song, which has received over 14 million views on YouTube. The Quick Style, a hip-hop dance group started by twin Pakistani-Norwegians and their Thai-Norwegian childhood friend, was also there.
The multilingual fusion track instantly became a fan favorite in Pakistan, Norway, and other countries due to its eclectic mix of cultures and rhythms.
We were unaware that our lives could have a timeline like this. However, Xulfi wrote, “I believe that when you push boundaries through art and love, the universe also responds with some art and love of its own.” Additionally, he offered a link that fans could use to cast votes for the song.
The producer expressed gratitude to followers for their devotion to “art that culminates in new beautiful things every day.”
One of the three songs from Coke Studio Season 15 that were submitted for consideration by the Grammys in the Best Global Music Performance category is also titled “Piya Piya Calling.”
