US : Recent polls indicate that former President Donald Trump is ahead of Vice President Kamala Harris in the race for the US presidential election, with voters’ decisions influenced by the economy.
With a margin of error of 3.1 percentage points, a CNBC All-America Economic Survey poll released on Thursday found that Trump led Harris by 48% to 46% nationally.
With a margin of error of 4% for that portion of the poll, Trump leads Harris 48 percent to 47 percent in the seven battleground states of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
This poll showed that a lot of voters think the economy is the most important issue, and that a lot of them believe Trump will handle it better than Harris.
42 percent of voters, compared to 24 percent for Harris, believe they would be better off financially if Trump were elected, according to the CNBC survey.
Around 29 percent believed that no matter who won, their financial situation would not change.
Similar results were obtained by a poll that was carried out by The Financial Times in conjunction with the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. 44 percent of voters had more faith in Trump on economic issues, while 43 percent supported Harris.
When asked who would help them financially, 45 percent chose Trump, while 37 percent chose Harris, according to the poll.
RealClearPolitics, which monitors national and regional polls, discovered Harris leading nationwide by 0.3 percentage points. However, Trump leads the seven swing states by 0.9 points.
