Pakistan : Islamabad Bushra Bibi, the wife of PTI founder Imran Khan, was granted bail on Wednesday by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in the new case involving a pricey Bulgari jewelry set that was purchased at a discount from the Toshakhana.
On October 4, the IHC told the Government Examination Organization (FIA) of Bushra’s request looking for post-capture bail.
As indicated by the indictment, the gems set, worth Rs71.5 million, was held by the previous head and his life partner for Rs2.9m as it were.
Equity Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb heard the bail request on Wednesday. Bushra’s advice Counselor Salman Safdar and FIA examiner Umair Majid Malik additionally showed up in court.
Malik started the arguments after Safdar had finished speaking the day before.
Justice Aurangzeb advised the FIA prosecutor to visit Azerbaijan if they ever had the opportunity while speaking with him. He proceeded to make sense of that in Azerbaijan, there was a gallery where all state gifts were kept in plain view; everything got by presidents from the world over was kept there alongside their photographs. Benazir Bhutto was also depicted in a photo there.
“Why was the PTI founder, Imran Khan, made an accused if Bushra Bibi did not submit the gifts?” Equity Aurangzeb asked, to which the FIA investigator answered that Imran was a public office holder.
The case, according to Justice Aurangzeb, is comparable to that of Justice Qazi Faez Isa. The husband was also held accountable for the actions of the wife in that instance.”
Malik thought that Bushra’s case was somewhat not quite the same as Isa’s.
The gift remains the state’s property until it is legally purchased, he continued, and the state must submit and declare gifts received in the state repository. A methodology has been given by which a present can be bought in the span of four months after valuation is finished.”
The FIA prosecutor stated, “This case is about a gift that was not declared and the consequences of those actions.” State-possessed presents can’t be held before buy.”
According to Justice Aurangzeb, an auction is the only way to accurately value Toshkahana gifts. In the event that you leave a shop with a watch and worth it later, what will it cost?” he pondered.
A brief written judgment issued by Justice Aurangzeb stated that Bushra Bibi was granted bail on Rs1 million surety bonds. A specific verdict would be rendered by the court later, it stated.
Additionally, on Wednesday, the special court hearing was postponed, and the indictment proceedings against Imran and Bushra in the same Toshakhana case were once more postponed.
The case was heard by a special FIA court judge named Shahrukh Arjumand, who put it off until Saturday, October 26.
Because of safety reasons, the consultation was held at the Legal Complex Islamabad rather than Adiala Prison, where there is as of now a prohibition on detainee gatherings.
