During an interview with The Lallantop, Bollywood star Alia Bhatt revealed that she has been diagnosed with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Although her diagnosis, which was part of a psychological test, didn’t come as a surprise to her friends, it gave her clarity about her challenges and strengths.
She recalled frequently “zoning out” of conversations as she considered how the condition has affected her behavior since childhood. Since childhood, I have avoided things by zoning out. I would lose focus in the middle of a conversation or in the classroom. I found out I have ADHD after taking a psychological test just recently; My range is quite wide.
She added, “When I uncovered this to my companions, they said they knew this for quite a while now; Because of my personality, it is not a big surprise, and I thought, “But, I didn’t know.”
Bhatt emphasized that her ADHD affects her capacity to focus on a task for an extended period of time and remain fully engaged in routine activities. She did, however, pinpoint two instances in her life when she feels grounded and present. I now understand why I feel so at ease in front of the camera. She stated, “I remain present at that moment.”
“I don’t know if it’s the character or something else, but at that moment, I’m more present. Naturally, whenever I am with Raha, I am most fully present in the moment. In these moments, I’m at ease and mentally present.
In an earlier interview with Allure Magazine, Bhatt discussed her ADHD and stated, “I have ADHD and don’t have interest in investing too much time.” Anything that needs to happen needs to happen quickly. My makeup artist, Puneet [B Saini], told my bride, “Alia, you need to give me two hours” on my wedding day. I stated, “You’ve lost it.” I’m not giving you two hours because I want to chill, especially on my wedding day.
