KURRAM: Officials reported that armed clashes between two groups in the Kurram district on Saturday resulted in the deaths of fifteen people, including two women and a child, as well as the injuries of seven others.
Two Kanj Alizai tribe members were injured when Maqbal tribe members allegedly opened fire early in the morning, according to police reports.
They claimed that shortly after the incident, the fighting spread to several districts, and that passenger and other vehicles were also attacked.
According to the sources, both the deceased and the injured were transported to the Parachinar district headquarters hospital.
Dr. Syed Meer Hasan, the medical superintendent of the Parachinar DHQ, stated, “One injured person is admitted, while the others were shifted to other hospitals.”
Javedullah Mahsud, the Deputy Commissioner for Kurram, stated that steps were being taken to secure transportation routes and restore lasting peace.
In the mean time, Pir Haidar Shah, individual from a neighborhood jirga or ancestral board, said that Jirga older folks were holding converses with the tribesmen while the terminating incident occurred, adding that the episode managed a disaster for harmony endeavors nearby.
In September, the district organization had engaged a nearby jirga to work with talks between two clans. A land commission was also established by the KP government to resolve land disputes, which are believed to be the root of the conflict. A land dispute resulted in the deaths of 46 people in the region last month.
