Over allegations of “anti-competitive” behavior, Lionel Messi’s drink company, Mas+ by Messi, Logan Paul, and KSI’s Prime Hydration are engaged in a legal dispute. Mark Anthony International, the distributor of Mas+, filed a lawsuit on October 8, 2024, claiming that their packaging does not violate Prime’s design and seeking a declaratory judgment.
Prime Hydration is said to have demanded that Mas+ stop selling unless the drink’s packaging was changed, which led to the legal action. According to the lawsuit, Prime also threatened to sue Mas+ for trademark and trade dress infringement, which prompted Mas+ to defend their brand.
A survey that Mark Anthony International conducted with a seasoned professional came to the conclusion that consumers were unlikely to confuse the two brands. The lawsuit focuses on the marketing differences between Messi’s Mas+ and Prime, highlighting Logan Paul’s public controversies as a factor that sets them apart.
