The star Indian batsman Virat Kohli returned from London last night to prepare for the upcoming Test series against New Zealand. He arrived in Mumbai last night.
The 35-year-old man was spotted at Mumbai’s airport, where he stopped to pose for pictures with photographers before heading out.
The photographers made a lighthearted joke about Kohli, telling him, “BGT mein aag lagani hai” (You have to light up the Border-Gavaskar Trophy).
On Wednesday, October 16, the three-match Test series between India and New Zealand is scheduled to begin in Bengaluru. On October 24, the second Test will take place in Pune, and on November 1, the final Test will take place in Mumbai.
The Indian team will probably be announced soon, and all of the players should be in Bengaluru by October 12.
It is anticipated that Kohli will play a significant role in the series, as he is only 53 runs away from reaching 9,000 Test runs.
He is close to becoming the fourth Indian batter to accomplish this feat, joining Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, and Sunil Gavaskar as cricket legends.
Kohli had a mixed series against Bangladesh, scoring 6 and 17 in the first Test, but he came back in the second with a crucial 47 and an unbeaten 29 to help India win the match and sweep the series.
With 866 runs in 11 Tests at an average of 45.57, including three centuries and three half-centuries, Kohli has a strong record against New Zealand.
