North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has stated that if there are attempts by enemies to undermine national security, the country will not hesitate to use nuclear weapons.
According to North Korea’s official website, Kim condemned South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol’s threat to eliminate North Korea, asserting that Yoon’s statement reveals who does not want peace and stability in the region.
Previously, President Yoon had advised his North Korean counterpart against the use of nuclear weapons, warning that any such action would provoke a strong response from the military of South Korea and the United States.
It is worth noting that North Korea has been running a nuclear weapons program for decades, and it is believed to possess enough material to produce dozens of nuclear weapons. The country has conducted six underground nuclear tests to date.
