The Israeli Air Force has carried out airstrikes on the capital of Lebanon, Beirut, targeting senior Hezbollah leader Hashim Safi al-Din, according to the Israeli military.
Israel also claimed to have killed Muhammad Youssef Anisi, a leader involved in weapon production for the resistance group Hezbollah.
Hashim Safi al-Din was rumored to be a potential successor to Hezbollah’s martyred Secretary-General, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, with reports suggesting he might take over that position due to his close relationship with Nasrallah.
Hezbollah has not yet confirmed or denied Israel’s claims, but explosions were reported near the airport, and smoke could be seen billowing for miles.
Previously, Hezbollah claimed to have killed 17 Israeli soldiers in clashes, stating that they targeted Israeli troops attempting to infiltrate the border town of Maroun al-Ras.
However, the Israeli government has confirmed the death of only one soldier so far.
Israeli bombardment continues across various regions of Lebanon, with reports indicating that 37 Lebanese civilians have been killed and 151 injured in Israeli attacks over the past 24 hours.
In the West Bank, Israel has launched an attack on a refugee camp, resulting in the deaths of 16 Palestinians and injuring dozens more.
The Israeli military claimed that Hamas leader Yasser Abdul-Raq was killed in the attack on Tulkarem.
