After a boat capsized in Nigeria, over 100 people are missing from a total of 300 on board.
According to foreign media reports, the boat sank in the Niger River near the Mokwa district, resulting in the disappearance of 100 individuals.
The reports indicate that the locally-made wooden boat had a capacity for 100 people, but when it set off, it was carrying 300 passengers, the majority of whom were women and children.
Media sources stated that the incident occurred as the passengers were returning from a religious festival.
Local authorities have reported rescuing 150 individuals following the accident, but 100 people remain unaccounted for.
Conflicting claims have emerged regarding casualties from the boat disaster. A local newspaper reported that the bodies of 9 individuals have been recovered, while a leader from the local council claimed that 60 bodies have been found.
