U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan has released key information in the election case against former President Donald Trump.
The document issued by the judge claims that the former president committed crimes to remain in office despite losing the 2020 election.
The 165-page document was submitted to the court by the special counsel, who presented alleged evidence intended for use in the case against Trump.
It is claimed that the former president took actions to overturn the election results in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, despite losing in those states.
The document also alleges that the former president lied to state officials to persuade them to disregard the actual counting of votes.
However, Donald Trump has already rejected all the allegations, while the Supreme Court has ruled that the president enjoys immunity from prosecution in matters related to official duties.
