Beirut: Israeli warplanes targeted a building in the center of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, resulting in the deaths of nine individuals.
According to Arab media, Israeli aircraft conducted a total of 17 strikes in Beirut on Thursday morning, with one of the attacks leading to the fatalities while several others left numerous people injured.
Al Jazeera reported that the building targeted by the Israeli planes is not far from the Lebanese Parliament, the Prime Minister’s residence, and the United Nations headquarters. Following the attack, a fire broke out in the building.
Arab media cited sources claiming that the Israeli strike allegedly targeted a rescue team from Hezbollah.
Meanwhile, the European Union has announced $33 million in aid for the war-affected people of Lebanon, having previously pledged $10 million in assistance for the country.
