In Vietnam, dozens of tigers have died in recent months due to the spread of the bird flu virus in zoos.
According to foreign media, the H5N1 bird flu virus has led to the deaths of 47 tigers from August to now.
The report states that the outbreak in the zoos has also resulted in the deaths of three Bengal tigers and one leopard.
Sources cited by the news agency indicate that the animals’ health likely deteriorated after being fed chicken that may have been infected with the bird flu.
Vietnamese authorities report that the bird flu outbreak has spread in two zoos, and the Ministry of Health has confirmed the presence of the virus in samples taken from two deceased tigers.
