New York: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan has expressed concern that the current situation in Afghanistan remains conducive for militant militias and various groups to operate freely.
Speaking at the UN General Assembly, Prince Faisal stressed that Afghanistan cannot be left vulnerable to terrorist exploitation. He called for urgent action to address the humanitarian and security crises in the country.
The Saudi foreign minister also condemned Israeli crimes against Palestinians, stating that Saudi Arabia rejects such actions entirely. He highlighted that Saudi Arabia has provided $5 billion in aid to the Palestinian people since the beginning of the conflict and is working on $106 billion worth of projects for Palestinians in collaboration with UN aid agencies.
Prince Faisal also expressed hope that Iran would cooperate with the international community on its nuclear and ballistic missile programs. He reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s support for peaceful efforts to resolve the Yemen crisis and stabilize the Red Sea region.
Lastly, he urged the global community to work towards ending the Ukraine-Russia conflict, emphasizing Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts in this regard.
