Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur stated that those who have come to power through undemocratic means have destroyed the constitution. Speaking to the media outside the Peshawar High Court, he remarked that while bullets and violence may waste our time, they cannot change our goals.
Gandapur mentioned that they are currently working on the 2017 Police Act, emphasizing that no one can misuse their power arbitrarily. He noted that under the caretaker government, the police have been tasked with responsibilities they did not wish to undertake, and they are collaborating with the Ministry of Interior and other departments to establish laws.
He asserted, “The people who have come to power undemocratically have destroyed the constitution. Wherever we receive orders, we will hold rallies. While bullets and violence may waste our time, they cannot alter our purpose.”
Gandapur added that as Chief Minister, he will use his resources openly, stating, “My machinery will clear the way because I am the Chief Minister of this province.”
He warned the Punjab Police not to follow any wrongful orders, stating, “You will face the consequences yourself.” Referring to Azma Bukhari, he said, “She claims she will hold a rally in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Why should I hold a rally here? I will rally across all of Pakistan.”
He pointed out that while leaders like Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Bilawal Bhutto, and others from the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) are holding rallies, there seems to be no one to stop them.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister noted that Maulana Fazlur Rehman himself admitted that he was told to end the PTI government, adding, “Maulana, you have agreed that you brought down the PTI government at the behest of the United States.”
