Beirut: Following the martyrdom of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in an Israeli attack, interim leader Naim Qassem delivered his first speech via video link.
According to international news agencies, Hezbollah’s deputy leader, Naim Qassem, stated that with the backing of the U.S., Israel is committing massacres of civilians in Lebanon. He affirmed Hezbollah’s readiness to confront Israeli aggression.
Qassem remarked, “If any other organization had faced pager attacks, walkie-talkie attacks, and the martyrdom of a leader like Hassan Nasrallah, it would have been long gone. But Hezbollah is a group that loves martyrdom and, despite sacrifices and suffering, will continue to fight against Israel.”
He further added that Hezbollah will maintain its resistance against Israeli aggression in support of Palestine, Gaza, and the defense of Lebanese civilians. “We move forward with hope and complete trust in Allah. We are people of jihad, and victory will be ours,” he stated.
Praising Hezbollah’s ability to strike Israel and target secret locations, Qassem said, “We take pride in our capability to reach Israel. A single missile from us forced a large number of Israelis to flee their homes.”
Qassem also confirmed that a new Hezbollah leader will soon be chosen based on established procedures, following the martyrdom of Nasrallah three days ago.
