Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has released the minutes from the recent meeting of its Administrative Committee, detailing the formation of benches.
According to the minutes from the meeting held on September 23, Chief Justice of Pakistan, Qazi Faez Isa, and Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan attended, while Justice Mansoor Ali Shah was unavailable for the prior meeting on September 20.
The minutes indicated that the committee’s secretary informed members about a letter from Justice Mansoor. Under the Practice and Procedure Committee Act, urgent cases are to be heard within 14 days, prompting several decisions during the meeting.
The committee decided to schedule multiple old cases, including case 63-A, which will be set for September 30. A five-member bench, headed by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, has been constituted for this case.
Notably, Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa and Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan were not included in the audio leaks case due to their roles as commission members, while Justice Muneeb Akhtar was also excluded due to related matters.
The committee concluded that all larger bench cases would be scheduled for 11:30 AM.
