Rawalpindi: The police have registered three new cases against the founder chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, in relation to the protest call issued at Liaquat Bagh on Murree Road yesterday.
The cases have been filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) 7, naming Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur as a co-accused.
According to the case documents, the former Prime Minister allegedly incited protests from Adiala Jail and encouraged his supporters to act against national institutions.
The new cases were registered by the New Town and Civil Lines police stations and include charges of attempted murder and terrorism, along with a violation of Section 144.
The Punjab government has also accused the PTI of criticizing national institutions, inciting violence, and engaging in vandalism and stone-pelting.
