Washington: Concerns are mounting for Dr. Jey Verma, a former health advisor to the mayor of New York, after he was caught up in a scandal involving participation in drug and sex parties during the pandemic and spreading misinformation about the COVID vaccine.
According to Indian media reports, Dr. Verma served as a health advisor during the COVID-19 pandemic in New York City and held a significant position at a medical technology company that produces vaccines. A video of him has gone viral, in which he discusses the COVID vaccine and admits to attending multiple drug and sex parties during the pandemic.
The video, which was recorded off the record, was shared by the podcast host himself, leading to widespread criticism of Dr. Verma for his apparent hypocrisy and dishonesty.
In the video, Dr. Verma can be heard stating that the immunity provided by the COVID vaccine is comparable to the natural immunity developed after contracting the virus. He also confessed to attending drug and sex parties several times during the pandemic.
In response, a councilwoman expressed that the former health advisor’s statements have confused thousands of New Yorkers. She pointed out that he previously stated in his sworn declaration that booster shots should be given to individuals who are already ill, but in the video, he contradicted this position.
It is worth noting that the American pharmaceutical company, Sega Technologies, has dismissed Dr. Jey Verma from his position as Executive Vice President following the controversy.
