Mumbai: A notable theft has occurred at the residence of South Indian actor Mohan Babu, where a thief made off with 1 million Indian Rupees.
According to Indian media reports, the theft was committed by the actor’s own employee, who has since been arrested by the police.
An FIR registered at the Pahari Sharif police station indicates that the theft took place on Sunday when the employee stole the money from the personal secretary’s bag.
After an investigation, the suspect was apprehended in Tirupati and subsequently transferred to Hyderabad, where he was formally taken into custody on Wednesday.
The police have recovered 736,000 Rupees from the suspect, while the remaining amount has reportedly been spent.
Authorities further stated that investigations into the case are ongoing, and as of now, there has been no statement from actor Mohan Babu regarding the incident.
