Despite impressive performances in both batting and bowling during the Champions One-Day Cup, several standout cricketers have once again failed to secure a spot in the squad for the home series against England.
Batsmen Usman Khan, Kamran Ghulam, and Tayyab Tahir, who topped the run charts in the tournament, have been overlooked for the upcoming series. Additionally, Mohammad Hasnain, who was among the leading wicket-takers, was not considered due to fitness issues.
For the series against England, all-rounders Aamir Jamal and Nauman Ali have been recalled, while Kamran Ghulam, despite his consistent domestic performances, has been dropped. He was previously part of the squad for the Bangladesh series, along with fast bowlers Mohammad Ali and Khurram Shehzad.
Explaining Kamran Ghulam’s exclusion, head coach Jason Gillespie stated that while they are monitoring his performances, they want to give the current squad another opportunity.
