The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to appoint a Consultant Sports Medicine specialist to ensure the timely diagnosis of cricketers’ fitness issues.
Facing challenges in identifying injuries at both international and domestic levels, PCB aims to hire a consultant responsible for the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of players. An official advertisement has already been issued to find a suitable candidate.
The consultant will work closely with national and domestic physiotherapists and trainers to ensure players’ fitness is maintained throughout their careers.
The qualifications required for the position include an MBBS degree with at least 10 years of experience, a solid understanding of sports culture, and strong decision-making skills.
Applications for the post must be submitted by October 10.
It is worth noting that the position of Director of Medical has been vacant since the resignation of Dr. Sohail Saleem.
This move by PCB aims to address ongoing concerns over player health and ensure a structured approach to medical care in cricket.
