Tel Aviv / Beirut: The relentless bombardment by the Israeli military on Lebanon has resulted in the deaths of 600 individuals, including women and children, and injured more than 2,500 over the past four days. The death toll is expected to rise further.
According to international news agencies, the indiscriminate shelling by the Israeli forces continues in southern and eastern Lebanon, resulting in the tragic loss of 50 children and 94 women among the deceased. Additionally, key commanders of Hezbollah, both regional and central, have also been killed in the attacks.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health reports that over 2,500 people have been injured, with dozens in critical condition. The majority of the casualties include women and children, and many homes have been destroyed, raising concerns about the increasing number of fatalities.
In the last 24 hours alone, 51 more individuals have lost their lives, while over 200 have sustained injuries, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health.
The United Nations has revealed that since Monday, over 90,000 people have been displaced in Lebanon, with approximately 600 individuals reported dead in this time frame.
Global media reports indicate that on Monday, an airstrike in Beirut resulted in the death of Ali Karaki, the commander of Hezbollah’s southern region.
According to Al Jazeera, the areas affected by the Israeli airstrikes have turned into piles of rubble, prompting hundreds of civilians to flee their homes.
It is worth noting that just two days ago, the Israeli military sent text messages to Lebanese citizens, advising them to stay away from homes and buildings used by Hezbollah.
In preparation for the assaults, sirens were sounded, followed by a barrage of bombs raining down on innocent civilians. Emergency measures have been declared in hospitals to handle the surge in casualties.
