Manu Bhaker, who won silver and bronze medals for India in shooting at the Paris Olympics, has come under fire from her fellow countrymen for repeatedly wearing her medals at public events.
The young shooter, known for her outstanding performances, was trolled on social media after fans noticed her constantly sporting her medals during various functions.
In an exclusive interview with *Times of India*, Bhaker was asked about the backlash she faced for wearing her medals to private events. Responding to the criticism, the Olympian explained that she was obligated to wear them at the request of event organizers, and it wasn’t something she enjoyed doing.
Bhaker clarified, “The event managers ask me, ‘Please bring your medals along,’ so I have to take them so people can see them and take pictures if they want.”
Addressing the online trolling, Bhaker stated, “Honestly, I don’t want to change my life for anyone, even if things aren’t going well.”
