England Test team captain Ben Stokes has hinted at the possibility of coming out of retirement from One Day Internationals (ODIs) ahead of the 2025 Champions Trophy scheduled in Pakistan.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Stokes praised the younger players in England’s white-ball team and suggested he might return to the ODI format.
When asked about the potential for a comeback to ODI cricket, Stokes responded, “If I get a call and they ask, ‘Would you like to come and play?’ it would definitely be a ‘yes.’”
He added, “I’ve played a lot of cricket for England, and I’m happy and content with my career.”
It’s worth noting that England is set to tour Pakistan in October for a three-match Test series, where Stokes will lead the team as captain.
