The announcement of the national team for the Test series against England is likely to take place this week.
According to Express News, Shan Masood will continue as the captain for the series. The national team is set to report in Multan on October 2, the same day the visiting England team will arrive.
England’s team has a rest day scheduled for October 3, while the Pakistani team will participate in its first training session on the same day.
Sources indicate that there could be 3 to 4 changes to the team that played the recent Test series against Bangladesh.
After the conditioning camp in Lahore, Red Ball team head coach Jason Gillespie has arrived in Faisalabad. Selection committee members Mohammad Yousuf and Asad Shafiq are already there, reviewing the performances of national players in the Champions Cup. Non-voting members of the selection committee are also present.
The selection committee will finalize the list of potential players after consultations with the captain and head coach.
The Champions Cup final is scheduled for Sunday, and the national squad will be announced after approval from the PCB chairman.
The first Test between Pakistan and England is set to commence on October 7, with the second Test taking place in Multan on October 15, and the third and final Test scheduled for October 24 in Rawalpindi.
