TEL AVIV / BEIRUT: The Israeli military’s relentless bombardment of Lebanon has resulted in the deaths of 558 individuals, including women and children, with over 1,600 others injured, raising concerns that the death toll may continue to rise.
According to international news agencies, the Israeli military unleashed indiscriminate airstrikes in southern and eastern regions of Lebanon, targeting innocent civilians.
Lebanon’s Ministry of Health has confirmed that the number of fatalities from the brutal bombardment has reached 558, with more than 1,600 injuries, many of which are in critical condition. Among the victims, a significant number are women and children, and several homes have been destroyed, heightening fears of further casualties.
Reports indicate that an airstrike in Beirut resulted in the death of Ali Kourki, a commander of Hezbollah in the southern region. The ongoing airstrikes have also claimed the lives of 58 women, 36 children, as well as two paramedics and two students.
According to Al Jazeera, the affected areas have turned into piles of rubble, prompting hundreds of residents to flee.
Earlier today, the Israeli military sent text messages to Lebanese citizens advising them to stay away from homes and buildings allegedly used by Hezbollah.
Prior to the attacks, sirens were sounded, followed by a barrage of bombs raining down on innocent civilians. Hospitals have declared emergencies in response to the influx of casualties.
