Faisalabad: Saud Shakeel’s Dolphins secured their first victory in the Champions One Day Cup.
In the tenth match of the tournament held in Faisalabad, the Dolphins defeated Shaheen Afridi’s Lions by 16 runs.
Winning the toss, the Dolphins chose to bat first and scored 326 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 49.3 overs. Umar Amin was the standout performer with 75 runs, while Mohammad Ikhlaq contributed 52 runs and Mohammad Haris added 47 runs.
In pursuit of the target, the Lions managed to score 310 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs. Ruheel Nazir top-scored for the Lions with 62 runs, while Khushdil Shah made 60 runs and Mohammad Taha contributed 40 runs.
It is noteworthy that both Shaheen and the Lions have played four matches each, with each team securing one victory. On the points table, the Dolphins are in fifth place, while the Lions hold the fourth position.
