Mongolia: Pakistan’s Asjad Iqbal and Awais Munir have secured their spots in the knockout stage of the World Six Red Snooker Championship.
According to reports, in the ongoing championship in Mongolia, Asjad Iqbal, the top seed in Group J and a bronze medalist at the World Cup, defeated Indian opponent Pando Ranjia, seeded 3, with a score of 4-1 in his second match.
In his next match against the group’s second seed, Iraqi player Ali Jalil Ali, Asjad faced tough resistance but ultimately triumphed with a score of 4-3, securing his place in the knockout stage.
On the other hand, group top seed Awais Munir dominated Singapore’s Jia Jun Ong, defeating him 4-1 in his second match. However, in his next match, he lost to Israeli player Shachar Ruberg, seeded 2, with a score of 4-3.
As a result, Asjad Iqbal advanced to the pre-quarter finals by winning all three of his group matches, while Awais Munir successfully progressed to the round of twenty with two victories.
