Tehran: Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have decided to inspect and check all communication devices used by their personnel following incidents involving the explosion of pagers utilized by Hezbollah.
According to international news agencies, the Revolutionary Guards have issued directives to all commanders and personnel to refrain from using communication devices until they receive security clearance.
The Revolutionary Guards stated that all communication devices will be inspected, including those imported from countries like China and Russia, as well as those produced locally.
Two commanders from Iran’s Revolutionary Guards told Reuters that these orders were issued after hundreds of pagers used by Hezbollah in Lebanon were destroyed in explosions.
They expressed concerns that Revolutionary Guards commanders could also be targeted in a similar manner, making security clearance imperative.
It is noteworthy that over 3,000 pagers used by Hezbollah commanders and operatives exploded in Lebanon a few days ago, resulting in approximately 40 deaths and over 3,000 injuries.
Subsequently, during the funeral prayers for the victims, walkie-talkies used by Hezbollah operatives also detonated, leading to 20 more fatalities and over 450 injuries.
All these attacks have been attributed to Israel, which allegedly filled these devices with explosive materials at some point during their importation.
