Former President Donald Trump posted a manipulated image on his Truth Social platform that falsely portrayed Vice President Kamala Harris alongside Sean “Diddy” Combs, accompanied by a caption questioning her involvement in his alleged “freak offs.” Trump later removed the post.
The edited image altered a 2001 photograph featuring Harris with former talk show host Montel Williams and his daughter, replacing Williams’ face with Combs’. This post coincided with Combs’ recent arrest on charges related to sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
The indictment against Combs followed several lawsuits, including one from his ex-girlfriend Cassie, who alleged physical abuse and rape. Combs has denied these claims, and the two reached a settlement shortly after the lawsuit was filed.
Prosecutors have accused Combs of orchestrating “freak offs,” which involve prolonged sexual acts with victims allegedly coerced into compliance through narcotics. The indictment also mentions the involvement of commercial sex workers in these activities.
This is not the first time Trump has shared manipulated images during his campaign; he has previously posted AI-generated photos, including a false image of Taylor Swift endorsing him and another of Harris supposedly addressing a crowd of communists at the Democratic National Convention.
Both Trump and Harris have had past interactions with Combs. Harris praised him in a 2020 social media post for leading a town hall on the impact of COVID-19 on Black communities, while Trump called Combs a “good friend” during a 2012 episode of “Celebrity Apprentice.” Old photos of Trump and Combs have since resurfaced on social media, garnering over a million views.
The Harris campaign has yet to comment on the doctored image, and the Trump campaign did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
