A high-ranking delegation from the International Cricket Council (ICC) visited Gaddafi Stadium to evaluate the preparations for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
The visit aimed to inspect the stadium’s facilities and infrastructure improvements ahead of the much-anticipated tournament. Officials from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) provided a detailed overview of the ongoing upgrades at the venue.
During the tour, the ICC representatives assessed various aspects, including seating arrangements, media areas, security measures, and accommodations for players. The delegation included ICC Senior Manager of Events Sarah Edgar, Event Manager and Champions Trophy Lead Aun Muhammad Zaidi, General Manager of Cricket Wasim Khan, Security Manager David Musker, and Broadcast Consultant Mansoor Manj.
This visit is part of the ICC’s evaluation process to ensure that host venues adhere to the necessary standards for international events. The Champions Trophy, set to take place in Pakistan, represents a significant milestone for the country’s cricketing calendar.
Earlier, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi assured the ICC delegation that all stadium upgrades would be completed on time for the 2025 tournament. He confirmed that renovation work across all venues would be finished before the event and emphasized that all participating teams would receive top-tier security, along with international-standard facilities for players and spectators.
The ICC delegation also expressed satisfaction with preparations in Karachi and Rawalpindi, including the review of security arrangements during their visit.
