The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is set to reveal the full schedule for the upcoming three-match Test series against England within the next few days. The series will feature two Tests in Multan and one in Rawalpindi.
As excitement builds for the series, there is uncertainty regarding England’s participation due to the fitness of captain Ben Stokes. Stokes, who sustained a hamstring injury in early August, is included in the 17-member squad for the tour. He is scheduled to undergo a scan next week to assess his readiness for the first Test, which begins on October 7.
The decision to host the matches in Multan and Rawalpindi comes as Karachi’s ongoing construction work has ruled it out as a venue. PCB officials believe that the conditions in Multan may provide their team with a favorable advantage against the English side.
With the schedule yet to be finalized, the PCB is focused on ensuring a smooth series, hoping for Stokes’ fitness to be confirmed. After a recent 2-0 Test series whitewash against Bangladesh, Pakistan is under pressure to perform. Currently ranked 8th in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC), Pakistan faces a challenging opponent in England, which is competing for a top position in the standings.
