Nicole Kidman recently shared her struggles with body image and self-doubt in the Hulu documentary series *In Vogue: The 90s*. The Oscar-winning actress reflected on her youthful insecurities, revealing that she always wished to be shorter and curvier. “My whole life, I wanted to be 5’2″ and curvaceous,” Kidman said. Instead, she found herself at 5’11, tall and slim, which designers appreciated for dressing her.
Kidman, now 57, recalled being teased as a tall, red-headed, fair-skinned girl, standing nearly 5’11 by the age of 14. “I would get teased, and it wasn’t kind,” she admitted.
One memorable moment in her career came when designer John Galliano asked her to wear one of his creations to the 1997 Oscars. Despite her initial doubts, Kidman embraced the opportunity and attended the event, describing the experience as “surreal.”
Reflecting on her journey, Kidman concluded, “Every time I was given access to that whole world, it felt like stepping into a fantasy.”
