Demi Moore, who shares three daughters with her ex-husband Bruce Willis, opened up about the challenges her family is facing as the *Sixth Sense* actor battles Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD).
In an interview on *The Drew Barrymore Show*, Moore shared the heartfelt advice she gave her daughters on how to connect with their father during this difficult time. “What I say to my kids is, you meet them where they’re at. You don’t hold on to who they were or what you want them to be, but who they are in this moment,” she said, emphasizing the importance of being present and accepting Willis’ condition.
Moore also revealed that she visits Willis weekly when in Los Angeles, treasuring their time together. Despite their divorce in 2000 after 13 years of marriage, the pair have remained amicable co-parents to their daughters: Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30.
The family has been adjusting since Willis’ diagnosis two years ago, with their daughter Tallulah recently expressing how important it has been to raise awareness about the disease. “What’s going on with my dad is that he has a really aggressive cognitive disease, a form of dementia that is very rare,” Tallulah explained.
She added, “If we can take something we’re struggling with as a family and individually to help others, to turn it around and make something beautiful out of it, then that’s really special for us.”
