Demi Moore has opened up about her experience supporting her ex-husband, Bruce Willis, who was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) over two years ago. In a heartfelt conversation on *The Drew Barrymore Show*, Demi emphasized the importance of embracing who Bruce is in the present moment, rather than holding on to the past.
“What I say to my kids is, you meet them where they’re at,” Demi explained. “You don’t hold on to who they were or what you want them to be, but who they are in this moment. And from that, there is such beauty and joy and loving and sweetness.”
She also shared how much she treasures the time they spend together, saying, “When I’m in L.A., I go over every week, and I really treasure the time that we all share.”
Their daughter, Tallulah Willis, has also spoken about raising awareness for FTD, noting how rare and aggressive the disease is. She emphasized the importance of using their platform to spread awareness, saying, “If we can take something that we’re struggling with as a family and individually to help other people, to make something beautiful out of it, that’s really special for us.”
In 2022, Bruce Willis’ family announced his retirement from acting due to aphasia, later confirming his diagnosis of dementia.
