Investigators are working to determine the cause of a house fire early Saturday morning that resulted in three people being displaced, four pets being rescued, and one pet being killed.
The Flower Mound Fire Department reported on social media that firefighters responded to the blaze in the 1800 block of Marble Pass Lane around 1 a.m.
According to authorities, the residents were awakened by their smoke detectors and managed to evacuate the home safely.
The fire officials stated that three residents were displaced, three dogs and one cat were rescued, while another cat perished in the fire.
Lewisville Fire provided a Battalion Chief through automatic aid, and Highland Village Fire Department sent an engine via automatic aid. Additionally, Flower Mound Fire used drone support and Flower Mound Animal Services assisted with the rescue of the pets.
