HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The Houston Police Department responded to two shooting incidents on the city’s southeast side, just 16 minutes and less than half a mile apart, resulting in one fatality.
On Wednesday evening, HPD confirmed investigations into multiple wounded individuals in the South Acres/Crestmont Park area. The first call came at 7:23 p.m. from 5540 Selinsky Road.
Then, at 7:39 p.m., a second call reported another shooting at 5599 Cedarburg Drive, according to HPD.
HPD Lt. Larry Crowson reported that at the Selinsky Road scene, officers found a young Black male shot to death and a 16-year-old who had been pistol-whipped. Witnesses informed police of a white Nissan fleeing the scene, which was later found at the Cedarburg Drive location. Another wounded individual was discovered there and transported to the hospital, though their condition remains unknown.
The police have not yet disclosed the circumstances or motives behind the shootings.
Earlier in the day, Houston police were also busy with two unrelated shootings—one in Gulfton and another in Alief, where a home invasion suspect was killed.
