Two individuals, a 17-year-old boy and a juvenile, have been taken into custody by Harris County Precinct 4 constable’s deputies following an incident where they crashed a stolen car into a home in the Spring area on Tuesday afternoon.
The deputies had been in pursuit of the silver Kia, which had Massachusetts license plates, after it was reported stolen. Surveillance footage captured by shows a patrol car trailing the Kia as it sped down Purple Wisteria Lane before colliding with a house at the corner of Goodfellow Lane.
Although the house was empty at the time of the incident, the impact of the crash caused damage to the porch area and knocked down a supporting column.
Upon crashing, the 17-year-old driver and the juvenile passenger fled the scene on foot, prompting a search by deputies. Initially, authorities believed there were three suspects involved, but after apprehending the driver and passenger, they confirmed that all suspects were in custody.
Witnesses in the neighborhood reported seeing the suspects jumping fences and attempting to evade capture. One resident, Leslie Rynott, described observing one of the suspects being handcuffed while another claimed to be injured and received attention from law enforcement.
This incident comes after a similar occurrence last year, where another vehicle crashed into the same house, leading to repairs being carried out by the owner.
Neighbors expressed concern for the homeowner, anticipating their reaction to yet another collision affecting their property.
