In Houston, Texas, one man has been apprehended and three others are currently sought by law enforcement following allegations of stealing beer valued at $675,000.
The stolen beer was taken from the Jaguar Transport warehouse situated in northeast Houston. Christopher Gray has been charged with theft and engaging in criminal activity related to the incident.
The theft is believed to have commenced in 2022 when Gray was employed by a third-party trucking company tasked with transporting beer from the warehouse. Subsequently, in 2023, police assert that three warehouse employees enlisted Gray’s help in relocating expired beer to another warehouse and various clubs. Supposedly, the beer was intended to be returned to the manufacturer for disposal.
During that year, all four individuals allegedly stole 375 pallets of beer, totaling $675,000 in value.
The theft remained undetected until July of that year when Gray purportedly revisited the warehouse and made threats of violence, accusing his co-defendants of being responsible for his termination from the trucking job.
According to prosecutors, Gray then reported the theft to warehouse personnel. In September, police intercepted him while he was driving a stolen truck, suspected to have been used in the beer theft.
Charges against the individuals involved were not brought forth until February. Gray appeared in court on Thursday and was granted a $75,000 bond.
