A 21-year-old was arrested Thursday in connection with the death of a man who was found fatally shot the prior night in the middle of a public street, police say.
Officers responded about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday to the 3300 block of P Avenue after a caller reported seeing a man in the roadway, Plano police said. Jaheim Kemp of Plano was arrested about 1 p.m. Thursday in connection with the shooting, according to the department.
Murder charges are pending, police said. It’s not clear if Kemp has an attorney.
The victim, identified by police as 43-year-old Mohamadou Thera, appeared to have been shot in the head, according to police. Thera of Sherman was taken to the hospital, where he died.
The investigation is ongoing.
