A verbal altercation Saturday in west Oak Cliff escalated into a shooting, leaving one man dead and another behind bars.
About 4:50 p.m., officers responded to the 1100 block of Hartsdale Drive near Fort Worth Avenue and learned a man had been fatally shot during an argument with a suspect, according to police.
Solano was initially booked into Dallas County Jail on an aggravated assault with a deadly weapons charge Monday morning, records show.
The assault charge will be dropped in place of a murder charge, according to police. It was unclear whether Solano had an attorney.
The dead man was identified by the Dallas County medical examiner’s office as Ricardo Gil Jr., 29.
The investigation is ongoing.
